In February our club co-sponsored one of Generation Joshua's Teen Track programs, iAdvocate. We had such a great time, and learned a bunch! Here are some pictures from this event. :)

Writing bills....

Every team worked together to decide what bills they were sponsoring

Another leader, Brady.

Comparing notes......

"Would you like to co-sponsor my bill? Pllleeeaasse???!" ;)

We had a decent turn-out and great feedback from this event! It was alot more fun and educating than even I thought it would be. :) Thanks to everyone who made this day possible!

TACT Serving the Community

This past year, sometime around Christmas, I had the delightful honor of working with TACT GenJ to help feed the homeless in our area. For me, this is part of the boots on the ground for GenJ. So often we hear politicians talk about how the community needs to step up and "change the culture." When we helped to feed the homeless, we were being that change. We were making a difference in our community. Politics is about more than simply getting your guy elected, it is also making meaningful connections to people and changing our culture. I hope that this year TACT GenJ will continue to make these relationships and be a voice for good in our community.

Here is a letter from Mrs. Francis Hill, Coordinator for Mission of Hope, to TACT GenJ:

Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ.
Greetings to you in the Name of our Lord and Saviour!

We Certainly want to thank you for partnering with us in our time serving with the Mission of Hope. we enjoyed our time of fellowship, hospitality and delicious meals together.

we trust that you will partner with us in the future while serving with the Mission of Hope. May the Lord continue to bless you is our prayer.

in his service ,
Mrs. Francis Hill

iAdvocate on February 25th!!!!

Hello TACT---
Just wanted to make sure everyone's remembering the iAdvocate event our club is co-sponsoring on the 25th. :) This is going to be one awesome day and I, for one, am super excited!! Below are the details:

Here's the info - spread the word, let's get 30-50 students!
iAdvocate: Mock Legislative Program
5728 Indian River Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23464
This Saturday, Feb 25, 8:30 - 5 p.m.

Students in the Hampton Roads area have a fun and exciting opportunity to learn about U.S. government from a hands-on, interactive, Christ-centered perspective!

This program features interactive activities that simulate what a legislator encounters when he or she tries to draft and advocate legislation. Participants will have to choose between competing priorities such as personal legislative goals, the goals of his or her party, and the professional agreements he or she has made with other participants. Participants will start with drafting legislation in a small committee, and will progress to an official legislative session where they will have the chance to debate and vote on their legislation.
To learn more, visit: http://www.generationjoshua.org/dnn/Educate/ConferencePrograms/iiAdvocatei/tabid/379/Default.aspx

Recommended for high school students
$45/Student - includes lunch, and complimentary 1-year Gen J membership
(including current members, who will get a 1-year extension to there current membership. The only case that couldn't really apply is a family membership; they can only extend individual memberships)

*Space is limited! To reserve your place, send an email to: TACTGenJ@gmail.com or call Grace Tate.
Registration starts at 7:30 a.m., payment is taken at the door.*

This event is co-sponsored by the Generation Joshua clubs: Tidewater's Active Conservative Teens and Virginians for Justice.

So there you have it! If you're at all interested in attending, or know someone who might be, please contact Grace!

DC Trip In Pictures

Hi all! Sorry it took so long to get these up. I hope you enjoy! P.s. Please forgive me for the high iso artifacts from low light shooting inside the buildings, This can be really problematic depending on your screen (I noticed a difference just between the two screens I was working on).
