TACT attended its first Congressional Meeting with a Staff Representative of Congressman Randy Forbes regarding our support of the Parental Rights Amendment on Thursday, August 13. We met at a Chick-fil-a beforehand to brief everyone and gather our thoughts before heading over the Congressman's district office for a very enjoyable meeting with the Staff Representative.

One TACT member also attended a Congressional Meeting with a staff aid of Senator Warner, along with 5 adults, regarding the PRA and the U.N. Rights of the Child Treaty (expressing concern and disapproval of CRC).

A couple more congressional meetings are in the works. Stay tuned and keep up the good work!

Generation Joshua & Parental Rights Amendment

TACT has discussed this issue for the past several months at least, but if you're unfamiliar with the Parental Rights Amendment and how it seeks to counteract the threat of the U.N. "Rights of the Child" Treaty, please visit ParentalRights.org for more information. :-)

There are 3 things TACT is encouraging all its membership to do, and recruit others to do as well:

1. Contact your Reps (Congressmen, Senators) in favor of the Parental Rights Amendment (PRA), and voicing your concern/disapproval of the UN CRC. Most everyone has already done this, but if you haven't, it's never too late!
https://writerep.house.gov/writerep/welcome.shtml

2. Join us in visiting our Congressmen and Senators. Currently two meeting are confirmed, more are in the works:

With Congressman Randy Forbes' Staff Aid,
Thursday, August 13th, 2:30 p.m. at the Chesapeake District Office
-and-
Senator Mark Warner's Staff Aid,
Friday, August 21st, 10:30 a.m. at the Norfolk Office.

I've been told that even meetings with staff aids hold exceptional potential to make a very big impact on that Representative's policy leanings. If you are very interested in attending either of these meetings, email me at TACTGenJ@gmail.com for more info. Otherwise, we'd very much appreciate your prayers and support for those of us who are attending. As well as....

3. Collecting signatures for the Parental Rights Amendment!
This is the one way you stand to make the biggest impact - it is recommended that we walk into our congressional meetings with at least 1,000 signatures from local constituents in support of the PRA. I know time is short, but it is especially important when talking with Senator Warner (and potentially Webb) that we be able to make a BIG statement. So attached is a form on which to collect signatures, and here are 3 tips for collecting:
1. Even if you've signed the online petition, you can sign this list as a constituent of your Representative.
2. Everyone age 13 and over can sign.
3. Every signature MUST be accompanied by a valid address - otherwise the signature does NOT count.

If everyone can just print out one sheet and fill it up with signatures, it will go a long way towards meeting our goal for our congressional meetings - and a long way towards protecting the rights of parents!
